June 2025 Opening my studio on June 7th during the Strawberry Festival was more than a milestone—it was a moment of shared memory-making and intergenerational connection. To everyone who stepped into the space, paused in front of a vintage poster, or found themselves caught in a thread of ancestral storytelling: thank you. Your presence breathed new life into the archival fragments lining these walls. The studio was imagined as a place where collage becomes ritual, where the practice of visual genealogy opens pathways to remembrance and resistance. Watching each of you engage with that vision—some quietly, some through deep dialogue—was a gift. It affirmed that this work, grounded in lineage, creativity, and contemplative resistance, resonates far beyond its material form. This is just the beginning. As Paperdoll Ancestry Studio continues to grow as a living archive and space of artistic inquiry, I look forward to deepening these conversations—holding space where memory becomes material, where cultural collage invites storytelling through space, and where Black family history and community engagement meet with intention and care. Until then, the doors remain open—physically and metaphorically.
